Recent reports changes

On the Overview tab of the Reports View, the Recent report group has always shown the most recent 30 trading days of data. Now, we’ve added options to see 60 or 90 days with just a click:

These reports work with either gross or net P&L, and either in dollars, ticks, or R (risk).

And as always, it’s possible to see your cumulative P&L for any time range and set of trades you wish by going to the Reports View, Detailed tab, Win/Loss/Expectation group.

Customizable columns in Journal View and Dashboard

For some time now, we’ve had customizable columns in the Trades View.

You can now also customize your columns in the Journal View and the Dashboard! In both cases, it’s as simple as clicking the setup icon on the right side of the column header, and selecting “Customize columns…” from the menu:

tradervue___journal

You’ll then be able to choose the columns you want:

tradervue___journal

For intraday trades, all columns will be used. For multi-day trades, each line in the Journal View and Dashboard may only be displaying realized data for that particular day; because of this, not all of the available columns will display data for multi-day trades. For example, the Exit Efficiency column will not show data for multi-day trade adjustments in the Journal View (although it will show data in the Trades View, where each line represents a trade in its entirety).

You can independently change the columns for the Journal View, the Dashboard, and the Trades View, and they will be saved separately. Set up your journal any way you want it!

New Notes Templates

Some traders have specific notes they like to paste into the notes for all of their trades and/or journal entries. Often this is a form with a number of fields, so they don’t forget to record a particular piece of info about the trade, but it can be anything.

We now have templates available, so new trades (and new journal entries) will have a specific set of notes automatically populated. No more copying and pasting!

To set up your templates, go to the new Notes Templates tab in your Settings.

New larger chart size

When you view the details for one of your trades, you see a set of price charts on multiple timeframes with your executions plotted on each chart. You can have up to 4 different charts on each trade, and each chart is about half the width of the screen:

chartsize2

We have added a new toggle to expand these charts to a larger size. Just above the charts, on the right side, you’ll see new buttons to select between small and large charts:

chartsize1

When you switch to the large charts, each chart will expand to the full width of the page, and will show twice as many bars. Compare this larger chart with the 5-min chart we saw above:

chartsize3

On the smaller 5-min chart, we can see that we were trading a break of the day’s high; on the larger chart, we can see that this was an important level on the prior day as well.

These new larger charts are available to all users, starting today!

Mentoring enhancements

Many traders have mentors or coaches, and taking advantage of the mentoring features in Tradervue can be a huge help. In a nutshell, they allow a mentor/coach to have a read-only view of a student’s trades, and to have comments and conversations on specific trades and journal entries.

Today, we have made a number of changes to make this even more flexible:

  • Mentors can now choose which columns to display in the Trades View when viewing a mentee’s trades; previously, the columns the mentee was using themselves would be shown to the mentor.
  • Mentors can now switch between gross and net P&L modes when viewing a mentee’s trades; previously, the mentee’s setting would be used.
  • Mentors can now set the Trades View to any display mode (table, small charts, or large charts) when viewing the mentee’s trades. Previously, only the table view was available.
  • Mentors can now download from the mentee’s Trades View into Excel for further analysis, and they can also download executions for a specific trade.
  • The Settings menu in the Trades View will now be visible for mentors viewing a mentee’s trades; any settings that are changed will be saved for the mentor, but will not affect the mentee’s own view of their data.

Together, these changes should make the system more convenient for mentors and mentees alike!

Notes now available on Dashboard

Ever since we introduced general notes to Tradervue, they have proven quite popular. Traders have told us they’re using them to record their trading plan, keep watchlists, and make market notes for the week, just for a few examples.

To make notes more accessible, we now display your most recent notes on the Dashboard:

Tradervue___Subscriber_Dashboard

The 5 most recently updated notes will be shown; if you have yet to create any notes, you’ll see a link to create your first note.

New users and those who have never customized their Dashboard will see the notes box there immediately. If you have customized your Dashboard, we haven’t changed your settings, so you won’t see notes right away. To add them, you can Customize your Dashboard.
